Procedure for managing data storage in a data-processing system, the procedure being:-Storing a first decrypted data object in a primary storage pool;Determine the period during which the first data object is in the primary storage pool;-Comparison of the determined period with a specified time interval;After the determined period corresponds to or exceeds the specified time interval, determine whether the first data object has a memory range to which another data object refers;andAfter the determined period corresponds to or exceeds the specified time interval, determine whether the first data object should be moved from the primary storage pool to a secondary storage pool, depending on whether the first data object has a storage area,to which another data object refers;-Storing a second decrypted data object in a primary storage pool;Determine the period during which the second data object is in the primary storage pool;-Comparison of the time period determined for the second data object with a specified time interval;After the determined period for the second data object corresponds to or exceeds the specified time interval, determine whether the second data object has a memory range to which another data object refers;andAfter the determined period corresponds to or exceeds the specified time interval, determine whether the second data object should be moved from the primary storage pool to a secondary storage pool, depending on whether thethe second data object has a storage area to which another data object refers;-where, after the determined period corresponds to or exceeds the specified time interval, for determining whether to move the second data object, the computation of the storage space occupied by the data object storage areas of the second data object is included;which is not referenced by another data object;-where the process also involves moving the first data object from the primary storage pool to a secondary storage pool, when the calculated storage space occupied by the data object storage areas of the first data object is not referenced by another data object,exceeds the computed space occupied by data object memory ranges of the second data object not referenced by another data object.
