SUPPORT FOR CONDITIONAL HANDOVER SUCCESS IN THE SPLIT-NG-RAN ARCHITECTURE

Methods and devices that are set up to promptly report a target cell that has been reached in a conditional handover procedure in wireless 5G / NR communication. The device can for example be a device of a base station (BS) which is set up for operation in a network of the fifth generation (5G), the device comprising: a processing circuit; a centralized unit (CU) with a control level (CP) which is separate from a user level (UP), the CP being connected to the UP via an E1 interface; and a distributed unit (DU) which is connected to the CU via an F1 interface, the processing circuitry being arranged: as soon as a user equipment (UE) accesses the DU after a handover procedure, to generate a message containing a cell identification ( ID) information corresponding to the accessed DU; and instruct the DU to transmit the message to the CU via the F1 interface.
