PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the distance between circulating bodies even when the circulating bodies repeat contact and separation compared with a case not on the basis of a drive load.SOLUTION: A circulating body driving device comprises: a first circulating body; a second circulating body; a first driving machine; a second driving machine; a load detector that detects a drive load on at least one of the first driving machine and the second driving machine; a moving machine that moves the second circulating body in a contact/separation direction; a detection controller that drives the first circulating body and the second circulating body such that peripheral surfaces of the circulating bodies have different speeds, and controls the moving machine to move the second circulating body and controls the load detector to detect the drive load, and moves the second circulating body to a convergence position at which one of the first circulating body and second circulating body bites into the other, and the drive load detected by the load detector is converged to a target load to a predetermined extent; and a position adjuster that adjusts the relative positions of the first circulating body and the second circulating body with the moving machine with the convergence position as a reference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
