According to the invention, in order to allow a steering shaft part (10), a steering shaft (1) constructed therefrom and a steering column to be provided in a simple way and with a high level of reliability, the wall thickness enlargement (22) is produced by plastically forming the end portion of the tube portion (4) by means of orbital compression.
