Process for the extraction of soluble organic material from rock pores of a rock with micropores, macropores and dead pores, characterized in that the rock is crushed and sieved in a first process step to a grain fraction of 0.63 mm - 2.0 mm and then with an organic solvent is extracted, the extracted grain fraction is extracted in a second process step with a mixture of 30 percent by mass of methanol, 38 percent by mass of acetone and 32 percent by mass of chloroform, and that the rock of this fraction is crushed in a third step to a grain size of <40 µm and the so recovered rock fraction is extracted with a mixture of 30 percent by mass methanol, 38 percent by mass acetone and 32 percent by mass chloroform.
