The invention relates, inter alia, to a method for operating an automated commercial vehicle (10) in a container logistics centre (14) having a container transfer point (18) for loading the commercial vehicle (10) with a container (12) and/or for unloading a container (12) from the commercial vehicle (10). The commercial vehicle (10) autonomously moves away from a container transfer point (18). An actual movement mass of the commercial vehicle (10) is estimated by means of a mass estimator (34), preferably a mass estimator based on longitudinal acceleration, of the commercial vehicle (10) as it autonomously moves away. Operation of the commercial vehicle (10) is adapted if the actual movement mass differs from a target mass of the commercial vehicle (10).
