PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a stable synthesis method of a highly-dispersible gold nanorod subjected to silica coating without imparting characteristics of gold nanorod has been required and a medium for dispersion of a silica-coated gold nanorod has been limited to water.;SOLUTION: A gold nanorod is coated with silica by controlling a methanol concentration to 25±5% during the silica coating process. The silica-coated gold nanorod is allowed to be colloidally dispersed in any medium of methanol, ethanol, diethylether, tetrahydrofuran, acetone, chloroform, dichloromethane, toluene, acetonitrile and DMSO.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
