A hand detection method, a hand segmentation method, an image detection method and system, a storage medium, and a device. The image detection method comprises: determining a first start point, where same is one of a center of gravity of a connected domain of an image to be detected and a geometrical center of a circumscribed figure of the connected domain; determining n far points that are different from the first start point, wherein an Nth far point is a pixel point in the connected domain having a maximum geodesic distance to an Nth start point, an (N+1)th start point is the Nth far point, and n and N are both positive integers; carrying out region growing with the n far points as initial points respectively, so as to acquire n areas in the connected domain; and judging whether a relationship between a pre-set characteristic of each of the n areas and a pre-set characteristic of the connected domain satisfies a selected condition, so as to determine an effective area satisfying the selected condition. The method can improve an image detection result.
