The present invention relates to a composition for prevention, improvement or treatment of obesity comprising the extract of Hansokdan as an active ingredient. It was confirmed that it had the effect of suppressing the increase in body weight and body fat due to the diet, suppressing the generation of fatty liver due to the high-fat diet, and reducing the fasting blood glucose and plasma total cholesterol. The browning effect of the tissue was confirmed. Therefore, Hansokdan extract is expected to be used in various fields such as medicine, external use, and functional food for the prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases such as obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver caused by obesity and type 2 diabetes.
