PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product reading device and a product reading program capable of reducing deterioration of product quality when transporting a product to a loading platform. A product reading device of an embodiment includes a transport unit, a reading unit, a distribution unit, and a control unit. The transport unit transports the product. The reading unit reads product information about the product transported by the transport unit. The distribution unit is provided downstream of the transport unit from the reading unit, and distributes the products transported by the transport unit to at least two lanes. The control unit controls the distribution unit so as to switch the lane for distributing the product based on the product information read by the reading unit. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
