Provided are an Internet-based video material resource management method and system. The method comprises: sequentially determining, according to a material uploading sequence, a target video material resource, and a source-associated video material resource and a result-associated video material resource of the target video material resource, so that a final storage and allocation process of the source-associated video material resource of the target video material resource is used as a target storage and allocation process, and an initial storage and allocation process corresponding to the result-associated video material resource of the target video material resource is used as a target storage and allocation process according to a result of a storage control script, thereby performing process fusion so as to obtain a final fused storage and allocation process; and using a target storage and allocation process corresponding to the final fused storage and allocation process as a final storage and allocation process of the target video material resource. In this way, the accuracy of source-associated or result-associated video material resources during a storage and management process of the video material resources can be taken into consideration.
