High strength and high formable aluminum alloy resistant to natural age hardening and manufacturing method thereof

Disclosed are high strength, highly deformable aluminum alloys and methods of making and processing such alloys. More particularly, heat treatable aluminum alloys exhibiting improved mechanical strength and formability are disclosed. The process includes casting, homogenizing, hot rolling, solution heating, pre-aging, and in some cases pre-straining steps. In some cases, the processing step may further include cold rolling and/or heat treatment.
