A gradient composite Fe-Al intermetallic compound microporous filter material, comprising a matrix framework (1) and a surface filter membrane (2) on the outer side of the matrix framework. A method for preparing a gradient composite Fe-Al intermetallic compound microporous filter material, comprising: performing isostatic pressing on pre-alloyed Fe-Al intermetallic compound powders; performing vacuum sintering on the isostatically pressed green body so as to prepare a filter material matrix; coating a surface filter membrane on the surface of the filter material matrix, wherein a slurry for coating the surface filter membrane is formed by mixing a binder, water and the pre-alloyed Fe-Al intermetallic compound powders; and performing secondary vacuum sintering on the filter material matrix coated with the surface filter membrane so as to form a gradient composite Fe-Al intermetallic compound microporous filter material. Thus, a gradient composite Fe-Al intermetallic compound microporous filter material with high precision, high flux, low resistance drop, a good blowback regeneration characteristics, high strength, and high-temperature and corrosion resistance is achieved.
