The electroslag remelting ingot comprises the following chemical components (wt%): C: 0.36-0.41%, Si: 0.80-1.10%, Mn: 1.00-3.00%, Cr: 4.90-5.40%, Mo: 1.35-1.55%, V: 0.4-0.7%, Ni≤0.04%, Cu≤0.04%, S≤0.003%, P≤0.012%, O≤0.0015%, H≤0.0002%, N≤0.006%, 0.05%≤RE≤0.20%, and the balance: Fe. According to the preparation method, by combining the characteristic that an inert gas protects electroslag remelting, the rare earth alloy is accurately fed in the electroslag remelting phase, and the excellent effects such as the inclusion modification of RE and microalloying under the conditions of high purity and uniformity are achieved to obtain a high-quality and high-performance hot-work die steel.
