The invention concerns a method for calibrating models for the representation of air mass flows in a motor vehicle engine compartment comprising a number of heat transmitters (HT, K, NT1, NT2), with at least one subset of heat transmitters each providing bypasses (BK, BNT1, BNT2) for which pressure wastes (PM, DpNT1, DpNT2) are defined,-where in a first step (S1) key numbers (g) for the definition of the print waste (DpK, DpNT1, DpNT2) and a key (g) for the definition of a print waste (DpSys) for the system are generated,-where a Surface Fit with order m is then created in a second step (S2),-where it is then determined in a third step (S3) whether the fit is good enough,- wobei anschließend in einem vierten Schritt (S4) eine Optimierung erfolgt, wobei basierend auf zuvor erzeugten Metamodellen optimierte Massenströme durch die Wärmeübertrager (BNT2, BK, BNT1) entsprechend von Massenströmen (ṁWÜ; (CFD) are determined from a CFD simulation;-which is then checked in a fifth step (S5) whether the optimization is good enough,-followed by a simulation with the key numbers (g) from the fourth step (S4) in a sixth step (S6),-which is then checked in a seventh step (S7) whether the result is good enough,-followed by an eighth step (S8) simulation.
