Embodiments of the present invention provide a cloud-based fault diagnosis method. The cloud-based fault diagnosis method includes: receiving monitoring data uploaded by a vehicle; extracting an eigenvector of the monitoring data from the monitoring data; storing a unique vector of the monitoring data according to a classification, using the part or the function system of the vehicle, which is a source of the monitoring data, as a label; and performing fault diagnosis in parallel on the eigenvectors stored according to the classification based on a support vector machine algorithm. According to the technical solution of the present invention, fault diagnosis can be performed in parallel on eigenvectors extracted from monitoring data of different parts or functional systems, based on a support vector machine algorithm. Therefore, the diagnosis time is reduced, and different data are prevented from affecting each other during data transmission, thereby improving the troubleshooting accuracy.
