PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weld defect detection system and a weld defect detection device comprising the system, that are capable of highly accurately detecting a weld defect in pulse arc welding.SOLUTION: Provided is a weld defect detection system (hereinafter abbreviated as 'the system') 50 for detecting a weld defect in pulse arc welding on the basis of a welding current I and a welding voltage V. The system 50 includes: a drawing unit 58 for creating a frequency distribution chart of the welding current I and the welding voltage V; a first partitioning unit for partitioning the frequency distribution chart into a short circuit area and a non-short circuit area by using a line parallel to a line connecting maximal frequency values in the frequency distribution chart; and a second partitioning unit for partitioning the frequency distribution chart into a base area and a peak area of the welding current I. Further, the system 50 includes a statistic calculating unit for calculating a summary statistic of each area, and a summary statistic based on welding current values, respectively. Moreover, the system 50 includes a defect determination unit for determining presence/absence of a weld defect, according to a degree by which the summary statistic values respectively exceeds its corresponding reference value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
