Pharmaceutical compositions and methods are disclosed for treating knee and/or hip pain in patients who are intolerant or not responding to standard analgesia regimens. Pharmaceutical compositions and methods for reducing the risk of developing arthrosis in a subject receiving anti-NGF antibodies for the treatment of knee and/or hip joint pain are disclosed. Also provided herein are methods of monitoring the safety for the treatment of knee and/or hip pain accompanying administration of an anti-NGF antibody. In certain embodiments, the subject has osteoarthritis of the knee and/or hip joint, and the anti-NGF antibody is pasinumab.
