METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSISTING MATHS WORD PROBLEM

A method for assisting a maths word problem and an apparatus (800) for assisting a maths word problem. The method comprises: identifying, from an image comprising an answered maths word problem, a first region comprising a question of the maths word problem and a second region comprising a given answer to the maths word problem (601); identifying the question on the basis of the first region, and identifying the given answer on the basis of the second region; performing equivalent conversion on the given answer and/or the standard answer to the maths word problem to convert the corresponding expressions in the given answer and the standard answer into the same character form, the equivalent conversion being performed according to a pre-established equivalent correspondence; matching the given answer with the standard answer; and if the matching result meets a condition, determining that the given answer is correct (604); if the matching result does not meet the condition, determining that the given answer is wrong (605).
