The present invention is to produce a printing plate on which registering is easy and color reproducibility is high, while opacity of ink is suppressed.　The present embodiment pertains to a platemaking method for producing a printing plate according to image data that is divided for each color and is halftone dot-formed, the platemaking method producing the printing plate on the basis of a knock out type in which halftone dots decolorized from one color are formed and halftone dots of another color are over-printed on the decolorized spots. The platemaking method according to the embodiment is characterized in that a gap with the halftone dots, the one color of which is removed, around the halftone dots of the other color is formed in a pixel in which the sum of a halftone dot area ratio of the one color and a halftone dot area ratio of the other color is smaller than 100%, and an infusion by which the halftone dots, the one color of which is removed, are infused around the halftone dots of the other color is formed in a pixel in which the sum exceeds 100%.
