To provide a design support apparatus for supporting selection of machine used for machining and setting of work shape.SOLUTION: A design support apparatus 1 includes: a storage part 11 that stores a piece of result information 31 of previous processing of workpieces in the past, a piece of design information 41 of a work of this time, and a piece of allowable information 51 including a piece of information of allowable shape that allows update of the dimensions with respect to the design shape. The result information 31, the design information 41, and the allowable information 51 are stored for each element of the workpiece. The design support apparatus 1 includes an extraction part 12 that extracts the result information 31 including the shape of the elements similar to the design shape of the element of the workpiece of this time. The design support apparatus 1 includes an evaluation part 14 that evaluates the technique of processing the element included in the result information 31. The design support apparatus 1 includes a shape setting part 15 that sets the shape of the element based on the machining technology and the allowable shape selected by the evaluation part 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
