Procedures, devices, systems and manufacturing articles for wide-band and fast chirp production for radar systems are disclosed in this publication. An exemplary device contains a phase digital analogue converter (220),to convert a digital input that indicates at least one phase or frequency modulation into an analogue output and to generate a phase modulated output centered on an intermediate frequency. The exemplary device also features a frequency multiplier (225) to produce a chirp signal by multiplying the frequency multiplication factor of the phase modulated output centered on the intermediate frequency.
