PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for predicting future symptoms of teeth or orthodontics. A computer-implemented method of calculating the future position of an oral object in a patient's oral cavity is provided. The method may include receiving first and second digital data representing the actual condition of the oral cavity at the first and second time points. The method may include processing data, including first and second digital data, to calculate the velocity of the oral object in the oral cavity over the first and second time points.
