PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and highly accurately sort small pieces of waste into desired classifications.SOLUTION: A waste selector comprises a supply part 3 having a supply passage 55 for supplying small pieces, and a substantially disk-shaped selection part 5 for sorting small pieces with air introduced from an air introduction part 40 of a peripheral edge part serving as a turning flow in a turning part 60 in a center. The turning part comprises a shaft part 61 erected substantially at a center and a substantially annular opening part 62 formed around the shaft part and having an exhaust mechanism connected to the downstream side. The air introduction part comprises a plurality of guide vanes 44 and 45 disposed substantially radially so as to extend in a substantially horizontal direction at a predetermined angle toward the axial direction of the shaft part, and a plurality of air introduction ports 47a on the outer peripheral edge side between neighboring guide vanes. The supply passage is configured to supply small pieces to an inner end of an air introduction passage 47r partitioned by neighboring guide vanes so as to jump inwardly in the substantially horizontal direction and so that the small pieces are sorted by the turning flow turning around the shaft part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
