PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can manufacturing apparatus which can unfailingly discard defects of cans held by a holding table and tranport non-defective cans to a next step without discarding the cans wastefully to improve product yield and increase the number of produced cans when resuming operation from the stop state of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A can manufacturing apparatus includes: a supply wheel 10 which supplies cans W to a holding table 3; a discharge wheel 11 which discharges the cans W (p) from the holding table 3; first detection means 21 which detects the cans W held by the supply wheel 10; second detection means 22 which detects the cans P held by the discharge wheel 11; transport means 13 having a next step transport passage in which non-defective cans of the cans P discharged by the discharge wheel 11 are transported, a discard transport passage in which the defective cans are transported, and a switch part provided at a branch portion between the next step transport passage and the discard transport passage; and a control part 14 which causes the switch part to operate on the basis of a detection result of the first detection means 21 and the second detection means 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
