The present application provides an aerosol-generating device including a housing and a magnetic element. The housing defines an accommodating cavity capable of accommodating an aerosol-generating article. The magnetic element is disposed in the accommodating cavity and capable of generating magnetic attraction or magnetic repulsion to the aerosol-generating article to draw or push the aerosol-generating article towards a predetermined location of the accommodating cavity or in a predetermined direction. The present application also provides aerosol-generating system including the aerosol-generating device and an aerosol-generating article. The aerosol-generating article includes an element that is capable of being attracted by the magnetic attraction or repelled by the magnetic repulsion.
