An electronic cigarette having an electronic child safety lock and a control method therefor; the electronic cigarette comprises an atomizer (1), a battery assembly (2) and an electronic child safety lock that controls the turning on and off of the electronic cigarette; the atomizer (1) comprises a heating element (11) which is used for heating and atomizing an e-liquid; the battery assembly (2) comprises a battery (21) and a circuit control panel (22); the electronic child safety lock comprises a microcontroller (23) which is provided on the circuit control panel (22), a switch circuit, a readable and writeable NFC chip (24), an NFC antenna and a mobile device which has an NFC function. An electronic cigarette application program is provided on the mobile device; the electronic cigarette application program reads a power-on passcode preset in the NFC chip (24) and compares same with a power-on passcode preset in the electronic cigarette application program; if the power-on passcode is correct, the micro-controller (23) controls the switch circuit to connect for powering on; and the electronic cigarette enters a standby state. The beneficial effect is that, by using the electronic child safety lock to perform power-on, the electronic cigarette is effectively encrypted and customized for personal use, thus preventing minors from using the electronic cigarette and preventing an adverse effect on society and on families.
