Loom healds.-A clip or hook for the metal rods k, upon which metallic healds are threaded, may be formed of two hook shaped pieces a, Fig. 1, having their upper ends bent back and passed through apertures in a shield b ; or the clip may be formed of one piece a', Fig. 10, having its upper ends secured to a shield by means of a pin or its equivalent. The clip may also be used as a crook for the jack cords. The staves d may be provided with metallic bearing-strips, upon which the shields b can be adjusted. Flat metallic strips g, which may be recessed and plain, as shown in Fig. 6, recessed and formed with bent ends, as shown in Fig. 7, or slotted and formed with bent ends, are used as stays between the staves d, and serve to hold the rods k. In Fig. 10, two fixed stays g' are shown.
