26,712. Farr, F. M. Dec. 8. T a b l e s.-Telescopic or extensible tables having means for storing loose leaves are provided with transverse bearers B secured to the table frame. Within the lower bearer B and the table frame is a frame or tray t having guides G, between which loose leaves may be inserted for storage. The opening between the upper and lower bearers is closed by a hinged flap f. The two leaves which remain permanently attached to the table have secured to them slides S, tongues on which engage with corresponding grooves on guides R fixed above the upper bearer B. The inner slides S on one leaf are connected by a cross-piece X, a stud H on which is engaged by slots in a locking-bar l pivoted to the other leaf and operated from the outside by the extending portion l1. The leaves can thus be secured together at the required distance. In modifications, the leaf-supporting tray may be hinged at one end to the table frame and secured at the other by a turnbuckle, the bearers and flap being dispensed with; also, the slides and guides may be plain instead of tongued or slotted, projecting strips secured to the slides engaging beneath the guides.
