Recoil apparatus.-Relates to hydro-pneumatic apparatus of the kind in which the liquid and air in the air-compressor are separated by a floating-piston, and in which a plain rod, connected with the floating piston, is employed for indicating the position of the piston so that any leakage of the liquid may be detected. The invention consists in providing a graduated scale and pointer in connexion with the rod. As shown, the rod D, which is attached to the floating-piston and extends through a gland D1 in the end wall of the compressed-air reservoir C, is graduated, and a reader dÎ is provided upon one of the supporting-brackets d, d1. The arrangement of the scale and reader may be reversed.
