Delivery apparatus.-In a delivery-apparatus of the kind in which a sheet is taken from the impression cylinder 1 by grippers 18 on a carriage 11 sliding on bars 3 which are then swung into a different plane to deliver the sheet printed side up on further delivery devices, the gripper carriage 11 may be operated by chains 13 and a cam, and the sheet is supported between the bars 3 by tapes 10 unwound from a spring roller 9, while the bars 3 are swung inwards from a vertical position to that shown in dotted lines, Fig. 1, to pass the sheets to an ordinary drop-sheet delivery 2. While the bars 3 are in their inward position, the grippers 18 are led down until a lever on the end of the gripper spindle contacts with the fixed cam 20 and opens the grippers to release the sheet. The bars 3 are then swung inwards, the grippers 18 being held open by the cam 20 until they have gripped the next sheet, when they are spring closed. Instead of the tapes 10, a band may be used. The bars 3 may be oscillated through cam-operated levers 5, 6, 7.
