Combined with punching-machines; winding- mechanism.-A player-piano is provided with an attachment for punching a record of music played on the instrument, such attachment being adapted to be placed out of operation for the reproduction of the music. The punching- mechanism is carried by a framework supported on a shelf 4. After the record has been made and rewound on the delivery roller 73, the driving-mechanism of the punching-attachment may be disconnected and the roller 63 driven to draw the web from the roller 73 over the tracker-board 103. This is effected by the coupling of a gear 79 of the operating-mechanism of the instrument with a gear 78 on the shaft of the punching - attachment, the roller 63 being driven by chain gear from the said shaft. The coupling. of the gear 78, 79 is effected by a hand-lever 112.
