Cast-iron and scrap processes.-Ingot iron containing at least 99À8 per cent of iron, not more than 0À14 per cent of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, silicon, and sulphur in the aggregate, and not more than 0-05 per cent of oxygen, is obtained by prolonging the blow ' in a basic Bessemer converter, and subsequently deoxidizing and degasifying the charge in the manner described in Specifications 27,201/09 and 5015/11.
