Massage.-A machine for removing scurf, dandruff, &c. from and for massaging the scalp, comprising vacuum or suction apparatus, the intake nozzle of which is provided with an implement to loosen the scurf &c., has an easily removable filter bag between the nozzle and the exhauster to collect the scurf for subsequent examination. An electric motor 1, supported on an adjustable stand 2, 3 drives a fan 8 enclosed in a casing 11 screwed to the motor casing. To the open front of the fan casing 11 is screwed a funnel 13, to which is connected a length of flexible piping 16 provided at its further end with a socket 17. The fan casing has an air outlet 24 covered by wire net 25. The suction nozzle 18 has a reduced part 20a, Fig. 2, adapted to fit within the socket 17, a bag 21 of gauze, muslin, or other material to retain the scurf &c. being interposed. The nozzle 18 is provided at the orifice 19 with an implement 22 consisting of a number of rubber teeth 22a to remove the scurf &c. from the scalp, and its inlet orifice may be circular, in which case the teeth extend round the whole circumference. The implement may be made removable for cleaning. The Provisional Specification states that the nozzle may be provided with a bristle brush.
