Dobbies.-The dobby described in the parent Specification is modified by mounting the knifecontrolling rocking levers m on one shaft t, so that the two upper knives b will be drawn back together and the two bottom knives b' together. When a lifting-lever has to be given a double lift to form a top shed, a catch lever on the corresponding swing baulk is caused to drop on to the upper one of the knives b, or the lower one of the knives b1, which have longer strokes than the other two knives. This may be effected by means of a long pattern peg operating through the feelers and spring-controlled wires; or one feeler operated by a separate peg for each catch lever may be employed. The lifting-levers may be kept stationary in any one of the three positions for any number of picks.
