188,957. Cruickshank, V. H. Nov. 21, 1921. Incrustation and corrosion, preventing.-In electrical systems for the prevention of incrustation and corrosion in steam generators and the like, thin plates or shields of non-conducting material are provided at the connection of the anode supports to the boiler shell, which acts as the cathode. The end d of the anode support b passes through an insulating sleeve g in a shouldered nipple e secured in the boiler shell. The conical shield h is held between the nipple and a collar d', and an insulating washer k is placed between the nipple and the nut i. The anode supports c, suspended from the boiler stays l, are insulated from the bolt n by a double shield h1. The shields h may have the form of a bell, box, channel or flat disc.
