An amblyo-corrector for use in improving the visual acuity of persons having amblyopia

[Class 97 (i).] An instrument to be used for the correction of amblyopia consists of a kaleidoscope comprising a lamp 12, a rotatable container 19 for coloured &c. objects 22, mirrors 24, and an eyepiece 23. An additional eyepiece 28 is also provided, in conjunction with a transparent reflector 30, to enable an operator to observe the designs which are seen by the patient. The container 19 is of circular form and has a projecting rim 19a by which it can be rotated ; the walls 20, 21 are respectively of frosted and plain glass. The edges of the objects 22 are ground flat and some of them have devices such as spots, letters, &c. formed on their surfaces by engraving &c. The two mirrors 24 are inclined at 36‹, so that the patient sees a pattern made up of ten sectors. The lamp 12 is preferably a " daylight " lamp. The instrument is adjustably mounted on a support 2.
