摘要
Cellulose esters or ethers, dyeing; printing.--White or coloured discharge effects are produced on materials made of or containing organic esters or ethers of cellulose by effecting the discharge in the presence of steam and of an ester of an organic or inorganic acid. Specified esters are the acetins, glycolchlorohydrin, glycerolmono- or di-chlorohydrins, diethyl tartrate, and potassium methyl (or ethyl) sulphate. The discharge may be effected by oxidizing agents, e.g. chlorates, or by reducing agents, e.g. the formaldehyde sulphoxylates of sodium or zinc, and the discharge preparations may contain catalysts such as anthraquinone. In an example a mixed fabric containing cellulose acetate and cotton is dyed with p-aminobenzeneazodimethylaniline and Chlorazol black LF, subjected to diazotization and development with b -oxynaphthoic acid, printed with an aqueous paste containing zinc formaldehyde sulphoxylate, gum arabic, methylated spirit, and triacetin, aged for 7 mins. in a Mather-Platt ager, washed, soaped, again washed, and dried to obtain a white discharge on a black ground.
