[Class 99 (ii).] Electric cable and other conduits for resisting fluid pressure are made of non- metallic material such as asbestos cement, with or without metallic reinforcement, and the lengths are connected by projecting pieces of metal welded or soldered together. In the construction shown the pipes a are provided with a brass lining b, formed with ends c, d corrugated as shown to allow for expansion and soldered or welded together at e. The joint is protected by a casing f of cement, asbestos cement &c. Several conduits with separate linings may be formed in a single cast block. The joints may be further rendered gas-tight by bitumens &c.
