One or more layers of fabric having a pile which is woven or artificially produced are sandwiched between layers of plastified vinyl resin, and the assembly is covered by outer layers of flexible fibrous material. The vinyl resin may be polyvinyl ester, polystyrol, condensation product of polyvinyl alcohol with one or more aldehydes, or polymerized vinyl acetylenes, and may contain a fire-proofing agent. In an example, the plastified vinyl resin comprises polyvinyl aceto formal, pentachlorodiphenyl, butyl phthalate, denatured ethyl alcohol, toluol and methylene chloride.
