[Class 9 (ii)] A non-detonating, deflagrating, black-powder type of explosive, especially suitable for fuze powder and gas-pressure cartridges and adapted to burn at unusually low temperatures without reduction of vigour, comprises a mixture of alkaline nitrate and charred carbonaceous ingredient, with or without sulphur, with an aldehyde-amine condensation product such, for example as is obtained by condensation of a primary aromatic amine with acetaldehyde in the presence of an acid. For a fuze, the mixture may be filled into a lead sheath which burns with the fuze at ordinary barometric pressure. Three examples are given.
