[Class 52 (iii)] [Also in Group X] A mounting for the feet of a table, chair, cooker or clothes boiler to enable it to be placed on uneven ground comprises two feet 30 connected by a guided incompressible fluid medium so that movement of one foot is transferred to the other e.g. upward movement of one foot produces downward movement of the other. In the Figure the invention is shown applied to a ladder of which the feet are formed as pistons 21 in cylinders 11 connected by a conduit 18 and filled with liquid 10 which transmits the movement. The flow of liquid may be adjustable. Pneumatic means may be used instead of liquid. The bases of the pistons 21 are provided with plates 29 to prevent sinking in soft ground or rubber cups 32 for hard ground. The mounting is clamped to the sides of the ladder by clips 34 and hooks 35 screwing in the clips. Extension tubes may be provided, adapted to be fitted on the lower ends of one of the pistons 21 to compensate for large differences of level.
