741,029. Cloches. JARAY, F. F. Oct. 22, 1954 [Oct. 28, 1953], No. 29757/53. Class 20(1). A cloche includes frame members 1-4 of thin strip material folded longitudinally in which edge portions of thin sheets of flexible lightpassing material 5, 6, e.g. plasticised polyvinyl chloride, are sandwiched. The ends of the members 1 and 2 are held in the folds of the members 3 and 4, and the top edges of the sheets are sandwiched by longitudinally folded reinforcing strips 7, 8 which overlap. The strips are secured to the members 3 and 4, and the top edges of the sheets may be forced apart for ventilation purposes and held in that position by a stick 9. The cross-section of the frame members may be curved to increase their rigidity, and the members 3, 4 have extensions with turned-up ends for insertion into the ground. The curved cross-section of the members 3 and 4 enable a number of such cloches to be interlocked, as shown in Fig. 1. In Fig. 3 a horticultural light comprises a structure 31 supporting sheets of polyvinyl chloride 32, 33 and 34 having their edges bound with longitudinally folded metallic strips. The sheets are secured by rivets 38, 39 and the adjacent strips overlap and may, if desired, be forced and kept apart by a stick 40.
