In the production of azoic prints or textiles by applying a paste containing a diazoamino compound derived from a diazotised aromatic nitroamine in which the nitro group is in o- or p-position to the amino group, and a coupling component, development of the prints is effected by neutral steaming in the presence of an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal salt of a dinitrobenzene sulphonic acid, the latter being added to the paste. Specified nitroamines are 5-nitro-2-aminotoluol, 5-nitro-2-amino-anisole and 3-nitro-2-aminoanisole, which are diazotised and reacted with, for example, N-alkyl-5-(or 4-)sulpho-anthranilic acid sodium salts or sodium cyanamide to yield the diazoamino compound. In examples, the printing paste also contains denatured alcohol, caustic soda, sodium bichromate and gum tragacanth.
