Class 141 A swim suit is provided with a crotch portion 3 having one end permanently secured to or integral with the rear or front portion of the garment and its other end adapted to be detachably secured to flaps on the inner surface of the front or rear portion respectively. In Fig. 1, the free end of the crotch portion 3 comprises a substantially rectangular flap 4 with buttons 7 for engagement with buttonholes 6 in strips 5 attached to the front seams of the garment. Alternatively press studs may be used as fastening means. The swim suit is divided down one or both sides and is adjustably fastened by lacing 2. Stiffeners 8 may be incorporated in the breast pockets and releasable shoulder straps or a neck strap 9 may be attached to the upper edge of the garment.
