Class 20(1) In a silo comprising superposed cylindrical tiers, each tier is formed of a plurality of arcuate sheet-metal panels 14 joined end to end and having a V flange 17 extending along either longitudinal arcuate edge, the adjacent V flanges of adjacent tiers resting one within the other to form a circumferential channel; the channel mouth being closed by a spacer strip 25, 26 held in position by keeper plates 27 secured to the adjacent tiers. The panels may be corrugated 16, the spacer strip may be U-shaped, as shown, or in the form of rods or tubes. The V flange adjacent the ground may be flattened to receive and secure the peripheral edge of a floor member, Fig. 4 (not shown). A roof unit may be provided, the sectoral shaped members of which are strapped to the upper V flange of the top tier of the silo, Fig. 3 (not shwon). The floor of the silo may be raised above ground level and may be of conical shape, Figs. 8, 9, 10, (not shown).
