Ethyl acrylate or butyl acrylate is polymerized in the presence of disodium N-"tallow"-b -iminodipropionate as dispersing agent by adding the monomer from which polymerization inhibitor has been removed by alkali to an aqueous solution of gelatin and the dispersing agent, heating and adding hydrogen peroxide catalyst.
