摘要
D-Ribose-5-phosphate or D-ribose are produced by culturing aerobically at 20-40 DEG C. a microorganism of the genus Micrococcus, Brevibacterium, Aerobacter, Corynebacterium or Bacillus in a saccharide-containing aqueous culture medium containing 0.20-2.0% by weight of phosphate (as phosphoric acid radical), 0.01-0.2% of magnesium salt (as magnesium ion) and 0.1-1.5% of potassium salt (as potassium ion) and when D-ribose is recovered 0.0001-1% w./v. of at least one salt of manganese, iron or zinc. (The symbol w./v. is the number of grams per 100 millilitres of solution.) The ribose or ribose phosphate is produced directly in the culture fluid as well as in the microorganism cells. A suitable culture medium is one which contains saccharides or other carbon sources (e.g. glucose, starch, starch hydrolysates and molasses), nitrogen sources (e.g. urea, ammonium chloride and ammonium nitrate), inorganic materials (e.g. potassium phosphate, magnesium sulphate, manganese sulphate, zinc sulphate, iron sulphate, iron chloride, zinc chloride and calcium chloride) and natural nitrogen-containing materials (e.g. corn steep liquor, yeast extract, meat extract, peptone, protein hydrolysates and fish meal). Upon completion of the fermentation the ribose or ribose phosphate may be recovered by treatment of the mixture with an ion exchange resin, adsorption, precipitation and extraction.
