1,044,638. Fluid actuation of switches. WALTER BECK KOMM.-GES. KONTROLLUND FERNMESSGERATE. July 25, 1963 [July 30, 1962; Jan. 22, 1963], No. 29559/63. Heading H2B. A multi-pole snap-action switch comprises changeover contact arms 23, 24, tongues 61, 62, which are movable to snap-actuate the arms through quick-action springs 46, 47, restoring springs 63, 64, being on the tongues, a control member such as a push rod 17 on a fluid-pressure operated diaphragm 15, and a transmitting member 65 between rod 17 and tongues 61, 62, which is universally tiltably mounted to allow successive actuation of contact arms 23, 24, in accordance with the compressibility of the restoring springs 63, 64, being on the actuating tongues 61, 62. The T-shaped transmitting member 65 is universally pivoted by a ballheaded pin 67 (Figs. 2-4, not shown). Adjustable stops 75 limit the pivotal range of tongues 61, 62. An alternative pivotal mounting of the transmitting member 65 is described (Figs. 5-8, not shown), where member 65 is articulated to the free end of a pivot pin 78 which in its turn is itself articulately mounted in the housing.
