A grandstand structure 10 comprises a supporting framework, a stepped sheet metal deck structure 15 supporting seats such as 24 and comprising alternate tread and riser portions 20, 18, the tread portions 20 being wide enough to provide longitudinal walkways, and the riser portions having areas 41 inclined forward and downward, and the seats being secured to the portions 18. The framework includes stringers 11 inclined upward from front to rear, upon which the junctions 45 of the riser and tread portions rest, and supplementary supporting brackets for the deck structure 15, comprising strips each secured under an area 41 with a rear end portion bent down to contact the stringers 11. The sheets making up the deck structure 15 are longitudinally overlapped for securement beneath the portions 18. The seats are on posts 29 on bracket plates 30 secured together with the said sheets to the areas 41 by self-tapping screws. The rearmost margin of the deck sheeting is bent over the rear ends of the stringers 11 and secured thereto, a rear railing structure being secured thereat.
